Roxy Shahidi from Emmerdale and comedian Lou Sanders were both eliminated in Musicals Week and will not be returning to Dancing On Ice.
‘I’m incredibly pleased of what I’ve done and what I’ve learned,’ the 40-year-old Emmerdale star remarked after learning she will be returning home soon after receiving the fewest votes.
“This guy has been amazing,” she said, referring to companion Sylvain Longchambon. ‘The entire experience has been fantastic’.
Lou and her professional partner Brendyn Hatfield were eliminated in a tight dance off against EastEnders’ Ricky Horwood and Annette Dytrt.
‘I think it’s all about never giving up, so we will be back next week,’ Lou joked, nodding to Brendyn and adding: ‘He said his insurance has gone up since working with me.’
Roxy’s dance to Sir Elton John’s Your Song, which appears in the musical Moulin Rouge, did not impress the judges.
The crowd was not impressed when Roxy, who had ‘badly damaged’ her shoulder, received just 24.5 points from judges Johnny Weir, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill, and Christopher Dean.
Johnny is filling in for Ashley Banjo, who is on tour with his dance group Diversity and won’t return until the semi-finals.
Ryan Thomas, a soap star, fell over twice during his act, which he described as ’embarrassing’, but he avoided elimination because he garnered enough votes.
Harry Clark of The Traitors was in the crowd and stated he was rooting for Ryan not only as a candidate, but also as the guy he’d want to be his partner traitor on the TV programme after recovering so well from the tumbles.
Miles Nazaire (Made in Chelsea) and Amber Davies (Love Island) got the highest marks in the season, both receiving 35.5 points for their outstanding performances.
Olympian Greg Rutherford skated to Les Miserables while resting in a hospital bed with a groyne injury hours before taking to the rink.
Adele Roberts, a former BBC Radio DJ, claims she performed to Little Shop of Horrors and named her stoma bag Audrey after the musical’s character.
The judges gave her and her professional partner, Mark Hanretty, 31.5 points, with South African dancer Oti applauding Roberts for ‘trying to get better’ every week.
This follows the elimination of Claire Sweeney and her pro skater partner Colin Grafton from Coronation Street last week.
S Club’s Hannah Spearritt and Andy Buchanan were ousted the week before, while boxing great Ricky Hatton and partner Robin Johnstone were the first to be voted out of the ITV competition.
