Ugly Betty is coming to Disney Plus as fans dub it ‘best news of the year’

Ugly Betty is coming to Disney Plus and fans are as hyped as anything, with some even dubbing it the ‘best news of the year’.

The streaming service has teased its ‘biggest content drop ever’, with a whole host of film and TV coming to the platform with its new Star service.

However, there was one in particular that caught people’s eye.

‘Disney + getting Desperate Housewives AND Ugly Betty may single handedly save third lockdown, my prays have been answered [sic],’ one excited fan wrote.

Another added: ‘I CAN FINALLY FINISH UGLY BETTY AND GREYS OMGGOMGOMG.’

‘Ugly Betty coming to Disney + is the best news of the year so far,’ one more declared – and who are we to argue?

The series, which originally ran between 2006 and 2010, starred America Ferrera as Betty Suarez, who, despite her eclectic style, lands a job at a fashion magazine.

Although the show was cancelled in 2010 after four seasons, it has since gained a cult following.

Also coming to Disney Plus are series like Grey’s Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, Prison Break, Lost, Desperate Housewives, and Glee.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Scream Queens, Scandal, and Sons of Anarchy will also be available.

Meanwhile, there’s plenty to look forward to on the film front, with the likes of Pretty Woman, The Devil Wears Prada, Die Hard, and Planet of the Apes set to arrive on the streaming service.

All of them will be available from February 23rd, when Star launches.
