Ulrika Jonsson looking for ‘fun’ younger man on Celebs go Dating: ‘Men my age are pretty f**king dull’

Ulrika Jonsson has set her sights on a younger man for the upcoming series of Celebs Go Dating because she finds men her own age ‘pretty f*****g dull’.

The 54-year-old presenter has notoriously documented her wild adventures as a single woman on social media, but now Ulrika is ready for something more, but on one condition.

Ulrika gave the casting crew, which includes lovable experts Paul Carrick Brunson and Anna Williamson, the freedom of choice to find a young suitor.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: ‘Yeah, it’s about the maturity of the person so I’ve kind of given them a little free rein in that department!

‘I guess I’ve been slightly cautious of dating men my age because, from my experience, they seem to come across as pretty f***ing dull.’

‘I don’t want dull anymore, I want to have fun,’ she added.

Ulrika’s first marriage was to cameraman John Turnbull in 1990 until their split five years later, before marrying Lance Gerrard-Wright – a contestant from a dating show she was hosting – in 2003 before they split in 2006.

Then in 2008, Ulrika married Brian Monet, and it seemed like she was finally in with a chance of having found a partner for life, however after 11 years of marriage the pair separated.

The former Gladiators host dabbled in the online dating world during lockdown, but came to the realisation that some guys out there have ‘lost the ability to be decent and respectful’.

Calling herself a ‘technophobe’ and ‘old-fashioned’, Ulrika explained that she’d always brushed off setting herself up on Tinder, but shortly threw herself in after and was out looking for a toyboy – setting her age range for a match to 26 to 50.

E4’s Celebs Go Dating will be making its annual return to the screen on January 17, and will see singletons Five star Abz Love, Chloe Brockett from The Only Way Is Essex, Made in Chelsea’s Miles Nazaire, and Apprentice star Ryan-Mark Parsons.

Celebs Go Dating returns on Monday, January 17 at 9pm on E4.
