Vernon Kay has appeared to laugh off any rumours that he’s going on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! this year.

The TV presenter was recently spotted pulling up what was thought to be a promotional photoshoot for the series on Friday.

Pictures obtained by the Sun also showed Coronation Street’s Beverley Callard and Russell Watson arriving at the top-secret meeting in blacked-out cars.

Other celebs supposedly taking part in the ITV hit include presenter Victoria Derbyshire, Paralympian Hollie Arnold, EastEnders’ Jessica Plummer and Strictly star AJ Pritchard.

An IAC spokesperson was unable to confirm the stars’ participation in the upcoming series, telling Metro.co.uk: ‘Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity are just speculation.’

But Vernon couldn’t help but fuel the rumours after he responded to a fan on social media.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Vernon shared a snap of John Travolta from Saturday Night Fever along with the caption: ‘Hurry home @tessdaly it’s disco Saturday!! @bbcstrictly looking.’

However one fan couldn’t help but ask Vernon about the I’m A Celeb rumours.

‘Aren’t you meant to be in a castle now Vernon?’ the fan quizzed.

To which he cheekily replied: ‘Don’t what you mean…?.’

Due to the pandemic, the 2020 iteration of the series will film at the Grade-I listed Gwrych Castle in Conwy, North Wales, rather than its usual location in the Australian jungle.

Producers confirmed that filming will be going ahead as scheduled despite Wales’s strict lockdown.

They said: ‘I’m A Celebrity continues to adhere to all relevant guidelines as well as our own strict Covid protocols.’

Metro.co.uk has reached out to ITV and Vernon’s rep for comment.
