Vikings season 6: Final episodes teased in first-look trailer – but is Bjorn alive?

Vikings fans rejoice because Amazon has just teased what’s to come in the final 10 episodes of season six in a first-look trailer.

Amazon Prime Video will premiere the final episodes in the UK on Wednesday, December 30.

The first half its sixth and final season ended on a cliffhanger with its two leading characters – Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) and King Harald (Pete Franzen) seemingly left to die on a beach after a feverish battle against the forces of Ivar the Boneless.

The first look of the second half of season six shows that Bjorn is alive, but he is seriously injured from the battle, and the question we are all wondering is, will he survive?

The clip shows how the conflict between Rus and Vikings will come to an end.

While in Iceland, Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith) is also determined to fulfil his father Ragnar’s (Travis Fimmel) dream and sail further west than any Viking has travelled before.

‘Prime Video has already delighted Prime members with all five-and-a-half seasons of Vikings,’ Brad Beale, VP of Worldwide Content Licensing told TV Line.

‘On December 30, Prime members in the US, UK, Germany, Austria and Ireland will be the first to learn the fates of the beloved characters as the epic drama concludes in the final 10 episodes.’

Speaking about the final, Vikings creator and writer Michael Hirst explained: ‘Our monumental saga is coming to its conclusion, but not before you’ve had to chance to watch some of my all-time favourite episodes.’

He went on to add that Prime Video will expose the series finale to a streaming audience first as he teased that there will be many surprises a long the way.

And it sounds like it’s going to be an emotional one.

Despite the show coming to an end, a spin-off series is on the way – Vikings Valhalla, which is set 100 years after the original series and which will feature the likes of Leif Erickson, Freydis, Hardrada and William The Conqueror.

Vikings is set to return to the History Channel and Prime Video on Decelber 30.
