Wagatha Christie trial: Sketch artist addresses trolling after Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy picture has people in hysterics

Courtroom Wagatha Christie artist Priscilla Coleman has revealed her sketches have been mocked, after fans critiqued Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy’s libel trial illustrations.

The wife of former England player Wayne Rooney has accused fellow WAG Vardy of leaking stories about her private life to the press, with the case now in court almost three years after the initial accusation.

Rooney – who has been dubbed Wagatha Christie – said she had planted three stories on her private Instagram that only Vardy’s account was able to see, and all three stories ended up being leaked to the press.

Vardy, wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, denies having leaked the stories and is suing Rooney for libel.

During Wednesday’s Lorraine, the 62-year-old host asked Coleman how she deals with public scrutiny when it comes to A-list drawings.

After fans suggested the Wagatha Christie depictions had been drawn on an ‘Etch a Sketch’, Coleman insisted that she didn’t draw the pictures.

‘Well, there’s a new trend trolling, which is what that is,’ she replied.

‘In fact, I get blamed for drawings that are even done in the States and I think “oh my goodness.”

‘There was some guy in Colorado that did Taylor Swift, and he massacred her. He was tracing, he can’t really draw.’

Kelly – who was also joined by ITV News Correspondent Martha Fairlie – also quizzed Coleman over the sketching process.

‘Sometimes they finish with a person and go, “oh that’s enough.”

‘I didn’t even know that Wayne Rooney was going to be in the witness box yesterday, but surprise, he’s there.

‘He didn’t take all that long, but I stayed for the whole bit of his evidence and sometimes I have to just leave quickly because the deadline comes up.’

She continued: ‘But in this case, I got to stay, and I got to see Jamie Vardy near the end with his wife.’

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
