Walk The Line has been hit with ‘fix’ claims after fans accused the show of favouring contestant Ella Rothwell.

ITV’s latest talent series sees solo musicians and groups battle it out to win the grand prize of £500,000.

Maya Jama hosts the musical special with Gary Barlow, Alesha Dixon, Craig David and Dawn French on the judging panel.

While the programme already caused a divided opinion online, viewers have now accused the show of being rigged towards one contestant.

Bristol-based singer Ella wowed the judges with an original song on Sunday night’s episode, where she had the option to ‘cash out’ with £10k or ‘walk the line’ through to the next episode where she’d compete against four new challengers.

The star has made it through for the third night in a row, and after noticing a pattern, fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration, and some even insisted they won’t watch the final due to being able to ‘predict the outcome’.

One person wrote: ‘If Ella wins tomorrow, then we have to accept that it’s scripted and fixed. We simply have to switch off. She didn’t deserve to beat Raynes.’

While another agreed and said: ‘We already know Ella is winning this show #WalkTheLine@ITV What’s the point of watching we know she’s winning!’

However, not everyone jumped on the bandwagon, as some hailed the star as ‘absolutely fantastic.’

During Wednesday’s episode, Ella again took her chances against Raynes despite £30k being on, ahem, the line, but she made the right decision as she won the audience vote, sending her through to the next round and closer to the prize money.

The fix claims come after viewers expressed how they were struggling to understand the show’s format.

One tweeted: ‘Sorry #WalkTheLine but the concept is just wrong !! Makes no sense.’

‘Not entirely sure about this concept. Some need to get thru several days, friday singers just thru that night?’ one said.
