Most people would remember if they’d starred in one of the biggest sitcoms of all time – but not WandaVision’s Randall Park, who totally forgot he was in The Office.
The actor played ‘Asian Jim’ on the massively popular show, and it completely slipped his mind after being reminded of the role by fans years later.
Randall, who is currently starring as former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jimmy Woo on WandaVision, has been trending online over recent times, with viewers calling out to him using the #woobackwednesdays hashtag – but it’s his cameo on The Office back in 2012 that still gets a big reaction from fans.
Talking about The Office on Conan, Park began: ‘I was in and out in an hour and I thought, “That was really fun.” And then I just completely forgot about it.
‘Several years later, I’m like walking down the street and this car drives by and a guy yells, “Asian Jim!” and drives off. And I’m thinking, “Is this some racist thing that I don’t know about?”
He added: ‘I thought it was a hate crime because I had forgotten about my appearance on The Office. People would be walking up to me and saying, “What’s up, Asian Jim?” And I’d be like, “F*** you!”’
Randall played a small role in the season nine episode Andy’s Ancestry, appearing as part of a practical joke John Krasinski’s Jim pulls on Rainn Wilson’s Dwight.
Meanwhile, some WandaVision viewers were left frustrated as the high demand for the final episode caused Disney Plus to crash.
The streaming service was overwhelmed with demand for the finale episode meaning many were unable to access Disney Plus temporarily.
The Office is available to stream on Netflix. WandaVision is available to stream on Disney Plus.
