Wayne Lineker admitted to breaking down in tears on Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion after dating experts Anna Williamson and Paul Carrick Brunson ‘dug into his past’.
In scenes which are due to air in the next couple of weeks, the 58-year-old explained that things got emotional when the dating experts starting asking him about his ex-girlfriends.
‘Anna and Paul have got a great aura and presence and when they talk to you,’ he told Metro.co.uk.
‘You’re really engaged in what they’re saying and they obviously know better.
‘They dug into my past a little bit with my ex-girlfriend and I think I did break down and cry at one point when they were speaking about my ex Danielle.’
‘It’s quite emotional,’ he added. ‘They do make a lot of sense and that’s the reason I respect them and try and get their advice on what’s right for me in the future.’
Wayne and Danielle met in 2014 at Ocean Beach bar in Ibiza, which is when they began dating.
Danielle, who was 21 at the time, decided to cancel her flight home and moved in with the bar owner instead.
The couple dated for four years and were even engaged before they split in November 2018.
Danielle announced the break-up on social media with a moving post where she vowed the duo would remain ‘close friends’.
The other celebs joining Wayne on his mission to find love includes Curtis Pritchard, Chloe Ferry, DJ Tom Zanetti and Kimberly Hart-Simpson.
