The competition in the Bake Off tent is fierce as the show reaches the semi-final stage, with just four contestants remaining to make their bid for the series title.
And among those who have made it this far is Hermine, who’s heading into the semi-final trailing two consecutive star baker accolades in her wake – scoring last week’s after wowing Paul and Prue with a stunning jelly cake creation.
We know that she’s a whiz in the tent, but what else do we know about Hermine?
As the final four bakers prepare to take on Patisserie Week, let’s take a look…
How old is Hermine on Bake Off and where is she from?
Hermine is 39 years old and lives in London.
The mother of one – with her nine-year-old son seen congratulating her on the show after she won star baker – Hermine is originally from Benin in West Africa, and grew up there before moving to London in 2001 to pursue further education.
She began baking as a child, helping her mother bake for big family gatherings, before attempting to go it alone on the baking from when she was just eight years old.
She is particularly fond of French-influenced patisserie – which could mean she is in her element this week – as well as being a bit of a sourdough expert.
She’s also admitted that getting into the Bake Off tent for the first time was ‘surreal’, saying: ‘I could not believe I made it in.
‘I was looking forward to meeting all the other bakers and seeing if they enjoyed the same bakes that I did, and to share knowledge and experience.’
What does Hermine do for a living?
Away from the kitchen, Hermine works as an accountant.
What is Hermine’s Instagram?

The Great British Bake Off continues on Channel 4 on Tuesday night at 8pm.
