What time is the Great New Year Bake Off on and who is hosting it?

The Great British Bake Off is back for another festive episode this evening, taking us back inside the tent for a New Year special.

There’ll be familiar faces along for the journey, with contestants from years gone by returning one more time to bake for judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

It comes after the show brought us a Christmas treat on December 24, with James Hillery from 2017, Ruby Bhogal from 2018 and Jamie Finn and Rosie Brandreth-Poynter from the 2019 series competing – with Alexandra Burke also stopping by to give a special performance of Silent Night.

There’s a whole lot more in store tonight. Here’s everything you need to know.

The Great New Year Bake Off airs tonight (Sunday January 3) at 7.45pm on Channel 4.

Tom Allen, who hosts Bake Off: The Professionals, did a fine job of hosting the Christmas special, but Noel Fielding is back inside the tent for tonight’s show.

The comedian missed the first special because he was on paternity leave following the birth of his second child. He’ll rejoin Matt Lucas tonight to host the festive competition.

The pair will be joined by Pru, Paul and a host of stars from previous years of the competition.

Helena Garcia and Henry Bird from the 2019 series will be taking part, alongside 2014 winner Nancy Birtwhistle and 2018 winner Rahul Mandal.

There’ll also be a New Year sing song taking place, with the bakers joining Matt and Noel for a knees-up around the piano after baking.

The Great British Bake Off is available on Channel 4 On Demand.
