Walk The Line will be making its debut on-screen tonight and we can’t wait to see the incredible musical talent that awaits.

ITV’s latest talent competition will see soloists, duos, bands, and choirs perform for the nation in front of the panel of judges, with a chance to win a prize of £500,000.

The top two performers of the evening will face a decision to either ‘cash out’ and take a prize, or ‘walk the line’ and play on.

The longer the performers stay in the contest, the bigger the prize pot, and each night the reigning champion will be offered an even higher cashout prize.

Before we get ourselves ready to tune in, here’s everything you need to know about the musical series.

Walk the Line will premiere on Sunday December 12 at 8pm on ITV.

Maya Jama, whose TV credits include presenting the third season of BBC’s Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star and Celebrity Juice, will be hosting the brand new series.

Singer Alesha Dixon, comedian Dawn French, and musician Craig David will be judging the series alongside Take That star Gary Barlow, who was announced as Simon Cowell’s replacement in October.

The music mogul decided to step down from his upcoming TV show to spend more time with his family.

Yes it will be!

Viewers can officially add it to their daily TV schedule for this week only, as the six-episode series will broadcast every night from 8pm until Friday December 17.

Simon’s latest project was confirmed days after the music mogul decided to call time on The X Factor after 17 years.

With the competition acting as the launching pad for some of the biggest names in music such as One Direction, Little Mix and Olly Murs, we can’t wait to see who the next global superstar in the making will be.

Alesha, who is an expertise in the judging field after critiquing contestants on Strictly Come Dancing and Britain’s Got Talent, said she ‘couldn’t wait’ to see the format of the show come to life.

‘Now to add being a part of it alongside Gary, Craig, Dawn and Maya is very exciting,’ she enthused.

David, a British singer, DJ, and record producer, commented on the ‘innovative’ and ‘edgy’ style of the talent show, which he said was the reason he was ‘so excited’ to join the panel.

‘I’m really vibed by the quality of the contestants I’ve seen so far and love that they have the chance to bet on themselves every step of the way,’ he said.

The Vicar Of Dibley star, Dawn jokingly added: ‘I’m far too excited to be part of this show, – I’ve decided to wear double knickers at all times…’

Walk The Line will air on tonight at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
