Grab some popcorn and a sofa to hide under because the eerie world of Black Mirror is returning to our televisions.
The iconic Charlie Brooker series will return for a sixth season, with five brand new episodes guaranteed to both sadden and terrify fans.
These new installments will have an all-star cast, including Salma Hayek, Ben Barnes, Aaron Paul, and Michael Cera.
Throughout the years, the series has provided us a lot of great TV moments as it explored various dystopian settings and a variety of topics – some harsher than others.
As we prepare to binge through all 22 episodes of the programme thus far, many fans will be asking when they can see the most recent, and almost certainly gloomy, episodes of Black Mirror.
Here’s all you need to know about when and where you can watch Season 6 of Black Mirror.
When will Black Mirror season six be released?
Luckily for Black Mirror fans, there isn’t long to wait for new episodes.
All five episodes in season six will arrive on Netflix on June 15 at 8am BST.
Brooker hinted what fans may anticipate from the next offering ahead of its release, and it seems like there will be a variation to the formula this time around to keep things fresh.
‘This time, alongside some of the more familiar Black Mirror tropes we’ve also got a few new elements, including some I’ve previously sworn blind the show would never do, to stretch the parameters of what ‘a Black Mirror episode’ even is,’ he told Netflix’s Tudum site.
‘The stories are all still tonally Black Mirror through-and-through — but with some crazy swings and more variety than ever before.’
Though many details of each episode have been kept under wraps, short synopses and titles for each horrifying new narrative have been provided.
The first episode, Joan Is Awful, will follow ‘an average woman [who] is stunned to discover a global streaming platform has launched a prestige TV drama adaptation of her life — in which she is portrayed by Hollywood A-lister Salma Hayek Pinault.’
Starring Samuel Blenkin and Daniel Portman, Loch Henry will see ‘a young couple travel to a sleepy Scottish town to start work on a genteel nature documentary, but find themselves drawn to a juicy local story involving shocking events of the past.’
Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Auden Thornton, and Rory Culkin will all appear in Beyond The Sea, set In an alternative 1969, where ‘two men on a perilous high-tech mission wrestle with the consequences of an unimaginable tragedy.’
Mazey Day, the season six finale, will feature a ‘troubled actress [who] is hounded by invasive paparazzi while coping with the ramifications of a hit-and-run event.’
Finally, Demon 79 will take place in 1979 in Northern England. ‘‘A meek sales assistant is told she must commit terrible acts to prevent disaster’ according to the synopsis.
All five series of Black Mirror are available to stream on Netflix. Season six of Black Mirror premieres on June 15 on the streaming service.
