Katie Price will return to screens with her son Harvey as the pair have landed a second documentary with the BBC.
The former glamour model received praise for their first film, Katie Price: Harvey and Me, which aired in January and followed Harvey as he navigated daily life with disability – he is partially blind, has Prader-Willi syndrome, is autistic, and has a series of learning and behavioural difficulties.
In the documentary, the pair were seen visiting residential colleges for Harvey, 19, to attend in hopes of him gaining independence from Katie. It ended on a cliffhanger with Katie set to find out months later which school Harvey had been accepted into.
The BBC has now greenlighted a second film, titled Katie Price: What Harvey Did Next, which will follow the mother and son through six months of the teen’s life.
When is Katie Price: What Harvey Did next about?
What Harvey Did Next will chart the youngster leaving the school he has attended for a decade, spending summer with family and even starting his first job shadowing staff at a train company.
Harvey is a huge fan of trains and warmed hearts in the first film when he copied the announcements at a station.
Perhaps more importantly, the next film will join Harvey as he prepares to start a new chapter as a residential student of National Star College, where he’ll spend the next three years.
What has Katie Price said about the documentary?
Confirming the new film, Katie, 43, said in a statement: ‘The overwhelming love and support we received following Harvey and Me earlier this year was incredible.
‘To see how so many people connected with our story and how it has helped so many families out there who are going through similar experiences has made me so proud. But Harvey’s story doesn’t end there.’
She continued: ‘In this next documentary we will again open up our lives to viewers, as Harvey takes the next step into adulthood as he moves out of our family home.
‘I want to show our real story about how Harvey and I cope with such a big change in our lives, and hopefully help others dealing with similar issues.’
When is Katie Price: What Harvey Did Next on TV?
An air date for Katie Price: What Harvey Did Next is yet to be announced but it’s possible it’ll hit screens in the last quarter of 2021. January is also a possibility as that will be a year on from the first documentary.
The first documentary was a huge success notching up more than five million views on the BBC, while Katie was praised for her special bond with Harvey, who she had during her brief romance with Dwight Yorke.
However, the retired footballer has chosen not to play an active role in Harvey’s life.
Katie is mother to four other children; Junior, 16, and Princess, 14, with ex-husband Peter Andre, and Jett, eight, and Bunny, seven, with former spouse Kieran Hayler. She is currently engaged to ex-Love Island star Carl Woods.
