After an explosive season of Married At First Sight Australia aired in the UK earlier this year, fans are desperate to know when it might be back on-screen for season 7.

The E4 show sees couples matched by relationship experts based on who they believe will be compatible with each other.

Married At First Sight UK is returning to the channel for another season this evening, coming just a few months after the success of its Australian export earlier this year.

The series sees couples subsequently meet for the first time on their wedding day before tying the knot in front of all their friends and family.

Things are made even more dramatic when the newly-married couples go on honeymoon before moving in with each other, as well as their fellow newlyweds.

E4 has previously hinted it won’t be long until fans can get their fix of the franchise from Down Under once more.

Earlier this year, they said: ‘Buckle up as we’re heading back down under soon.

‘Married at First Sight Australia series seven is set to land on E4 this summer.’

Although it’s not clear exactly when the air date for the show will be, there were only six months between seasons five and six being released on E4, so there shouldn’t be too long left to wait.

Season six was filmed back in 2018, meaning the UK is behind by quite some time, with season seven having already aired in Australia back in 2020.

Last season’s participant Elizabeth Sobinoff will be appearing again on the upcoming batch of episodes following her love triangle with Sam Ball and Ines Basic.

The upcoming season will also see the Australian show’s first same-sex couple join the experiment with contestants Amanda Micallef and Tash Herz set to tie the knot.

The surprising popularity of the spin-off prompted the channel to make some changes to its UK edition which begins tonight.

E4 said earlier this year: ‘Following the Australian format, rather than legal marriages, the couples will make a lifelong commitment to one another at a glamorous ceremony, overseen by a wedding celebrant, that includes guests, bridal gowns, dancing, speeches and cake.

‘After the ceremony and celebrations are over, true love is well and truly put to the test, as they embark on a luxurious honeymoon, before moving in with each other AND their fellow couples.

They went on to add: ‘Relationships will be put under the microscope, by fellow brides and grooms at weekly dinner parties – as well as by the experts, at recurring commitment ceremonies, where couples choose whether they want to stay in or leave the process.’

All episodes of Married At First Sight Australia can be streamed on All 4 now.
