Everything I Know About Love begins on BBC next week, packed with an absolutely stellar cast of names, including Bel Powley.
The new series is an adaptation of Dolly Alderton’s 2018 memoir of the same name, which received rave reviews from readers.
Fans will see the semi-fictionalised version come to life on June 7, when all seven episodes drop on BBC iPlayer.
It follows the lives of four young women making the move to the big city back in 2012.
The story hones in on Maggie’s (Emma Appleton) deep platonic love for best friend Birdy (Bel Powley), who are both based on Dolly and her real-life best pal.
However, once they settle into the ups and downs of London life, the pair’s friendship is really put to the test when Birdy gets a boyfriend.
As the girls struggle to deal with their changing relationship, will they manage to end as close as where they started?
Here’s everything you need to know about actress Bel, who portrays Birdy.
Who is Bel Powley?
Bel, 30, was born in London in 1992 and attended Holland Park School.
Some fans will remember Bel from her CBBC days, where she starred alongside Danny John-Jules in the action television series M.I. High between 2007 and 2008.
She was nominated for a British Independent Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer in 2015, for her role as Princess Margaret in A Royal Night Out.
The actress joined the cast of the ITV series Benidorm for series six back in 2014 as Bianca Dyke.
In June 2020, she appeared in The King of Staten Island as the love interest of none other than Pete Davidson’s character.
Bel also portrays Claire Conway on The Morning Show alongside Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Anniston and previously played a leading role of Holly Morten in the BBC One drama Informer.
Who is Bel Powley dating?
Bel has been dating actor Riot Club Douglas Booth since 2016, and the pair are now engaged.
The pair met on the set of the film Mary Shelley that year, and quickly hit it off.
She announced he’d popped the question last summer during a sweet picnic at Primrose Hill, amid the fun of the Euros.
Sharing a carousel of photos of herself and her now-fiancé, she wrote alongside the post: ‘Football’s coming home…and so is my husband.’ Cute!
Everything I Know About Love begins on June 7 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
