The MasterChef final 2021 is finally set to air tonight, five days after it was originally meant to broadcast.
The hotly-anticipated episode was delayed last week after the Duke Of Edinburgh Prince Philip’s death aged 99 as the corporation suspended all of its non-news programming.
The final was initially meant to take place on Friday, April 9, with desperate viewers eventually getting news of when MasterChef will now air.
In tonight’s dose, the three finalists will step into the kitchen one last time after six grueling weeks of challenges, before judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace crown this year’s MasterChef Champion.
Who is in the MasterChef final?
Three contestants will be going up against each other in tonight’s MasterChef final.
They’ll face a Chef’s Table challenge at Michel Roux Jr’s famous restaurant Le Gavroche.
As it stands, Mike Tomkins, Tom Rhodes and Alexina Anatole are battling it out for the coveted title.

Tom, who hails from Newcastle, is a 31-year-old front-of-house manager at a high street chain restaurant.
‘I loved experimenting with ingredients and flavours, with varying degrees of success!’ he enthused.
‘I became more curious and skilled in my teenage years when I started to teach myself to cook properly and would often cook for my parents and their friends.’

Alexina, 30, is currently in a management role at a start-up.
‘Cooking runs in my family,’ she said. ‘My maternal grandparents were chicken farmers, and my grandmother was a classic British home cook; her apple and blackberry pie is legendary.
‘My paternal grandmother trained as a chef. Going over to her house was the classic Caribbean experience in so far as the table would be groaning with more food than could ever be eaten.’

Mike, 27, works as in the sales team for a tech company in Surrey.
‘I kept saying to myself, as long as I don’t go out in this round, I’ll be happy,’ he said after making it through to the semi-finals.
‘The whole thing is quite an emotional experience; no one can prepare you for it.
‘Getting through has made everything worth it and I feel vindicated for the blood sweat and tears I have put into the competition.’
