Will Best and AJ Odudu have been confirmed as co-hosts of ITV’s Big Brother 2023 revival.
AJ, 35, has made a reputation for himself in the UK television industry. She finished third on Strictly Come Dancing, is heavily involved in Eurovision coverage, and has been on The Voice, Big Breakfast, and Big Brother’s Bit on the Side throughout the years.
Will, her co-host, is less well-known, but we’re confident that won’t be the case for long.
Here’s all you need to know about the man in charge of Big Brother (well, half of it)…
Who is Will Best?
Will, 38, is a Londoner who has worked as a broadcaster since 2010.
If you want to know what he’s up to on a daily basis, he informs his 11k Instagram followers. You can see photos of his frequent excursions, which include trips to Miami and Lisbon – he’s wise to use all of his yearly vacation now because he’ll be quite busy shortly.
He also frequently uploads adorable photos of himself and partner Tobi Rose, whom he refers to as “the love of my life.”
Sandwich is the couple’s pet dog, and the Tibetan Terrier even has their own Instagram account.
He is also pals with Maya Jama, who described Will and AJ’s meeting as “iconic and necessary.”
Will uploaded a throwback photo of himself DJing with AJ and Maya, 28, in September, saying, ‘Just before my career completely took off, and theirs regrettably stopped’.
If Will wants a drink to decompress after the concert, he’s covered because he co-owns Bloody beverages, a Bloody Mary beverages company that sells a canned version of the cocktail.
What other shows has Will been on?
Will’s first known presenting assignment was in 2010, when he co-hosted the comedy-pop programme Suck my Pop on Viva with Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh. The duo would do interviews and amusing challenges with famous singers, but the show only lasted three months.
The next year, he joined T4, where he remained until its dissolution in 2012.
He subsequently moved on to the E4 dating programme Love Shaft, in which singles tried to make connections while riding in an elevator. We normally spend our lift rides avoiding eye contact.
He could be able to pick up some Big Brother hosting skills from Davina McCall, who he worked with on Got to Dance around the same time. He also presented Got to Dance: Auditions Uncut for Sky.
He directed an important BBC documentary, Is This Rape?, in 2015. Sex on Trial, in which a group of students had to witness a sexual interaction and determine whether or not it was consenting.
While he certainly has the ability to cover important problems, he also enjoys having fun at work. When we think of fun, we think of AJ and his buddies collaborating on The Great Christmas Rant, in which they did just that.
He also had a good time on Celebrity Coach Trip 2021, where he travelled with comedian Matt Richardson.
His first prime-time show was Dance, Dance, Dance, which he co-hosted with Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon.
Celebrities such as Fiona Wade, Jess Wright, and JB Gill attempted to replicate legendary dances on ITV’s Sunday evening show.
It did not return for a second season.
Basically, Will has lots of presenting experience, which will serve him well for his biggest role yet.
When is Big Brother coming back?
There is no set date for the comeback, but it will air on ITV2 and ITVX this year.
Will is pretty excited about it: ‘I grew up with Big Brother so getting a chance to host it with my mate AJ is a dream come true. I can’t wait to tell some housemates not to swear.’
