Who left Bake Off tonight and when is the final?

The Great British Bake Off semi-finals are upon us and the team were given a hell of series of tasks in Patisserie Week.

With just one week left to go before the grand finale, the remaining four contestants were not just tackling the challenges, but also the weather – as a heatwave threatened to ruin all their efforts.

Dave, Hermine, Laura and Peter all gave it their all but unfortunately, there were only three spaces in the final.

But who rose to the top and who found themselves bottoming out?

Here’s who fell at the final hurdle…

Hermine was eliminated from the competition (Picture: Channel 4)

Who left this week’s Bake Off?

Despite her best efforts, Hermine was eliminated from the competition.

Her showstopper was what ultimately let her down – after her cube cake bakes were too stodgy and started collapsing in on themselves.

They also weren’t the right flavours for the show.

Noel delivered the news, and said: ‘You’ve all been so fantastic to get this far, but unfortunately there can only be three. The person who is leaving us is Hermine.’

Hermine looked gutted at the news, but told cameras: ‘When I go home and I have time to reflect, there will be a lot of happy memories.

Peter was declared Star Baker (Picture: Channel 4)

‘It can only be good things.’

This week’s star baker was Peter.

Peter, Dave and Laura have now made it through to the finals, which will air next week.

In a teaser for the upcoming episode, Prue is heard declaring the final ‘the closest ever’.

May the best baker win.

The Great British Bake Off continues Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
