Good Morning Britain viewers were quick to notice that Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid weren’t co-hosting Monday morning’s show like usual.
The pair are usually seen presenting the show from Monday to Wednesday, but today’s broadcast was instead led by Kate Garraway and her co-host Ranvir Singh.
Viewers at home took to Twitter confused, with many asking where Piers and Susanna were.
But, cast your minds back to last week and you’ll remember Piers revealing that he and Susanna are taking a two-week break from GMB for half term.
He revealed: ‘We’ve got half term off, really exciting. I’m going to move from the sofa downstairs to upstairs for my holiday.’
Making light of recent speculation that the UK could go back into lockdown for a ‘coronavirus circuit breaker’, Susanna teased: ‘You get a two-week circuit breaker from us.’
Piers then explained that the pair will be back in time to cover the lead up to the US presidential election that is set to take place on November 3.
‘The good news is, because I know you’ll be missing us, we’ll be back for the US election week,’ he said.
‘We’ll be there all week, all five days,’ Piers revealed, with Susanna correcting her co-host, clarifying that by ‘there’ he meant the GMB studio and not America.
Piers and Susanna had previously travelled to the US to cover the 2016 election.
Dr Hilary Jones was also absent from Monday morning’s show, with Dr Amir Khan instead joining show hosts Kate and Ranvir, who was seen discussing her Strictly Come Dancing debut following the show’s 2020 launch, via video link.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
