Firefly Lane is the latest Netflix drama to take viewers on an emotional rollercoaster like no other.
Starring Grey’s Anatomy alum Katherine Heigl and Roseanne star Sarah Chalke, the series follows best friends Tully and Kate through key periods in their lives.
Flashing back between their adolescence, early twenties and their forties, viewers watch along as the show explores how our relationships affect our lives over the years.
After twists and turns that would make This Is Us proud, the series ended with a frustrating cliffhanger that leaves you needing to know more.
What happens at the end Firefly Lane season one?
Spoiler alert – this article is going to talk all about what went down in the final moments of Firefly Lane season one.
Okay, so viewers are left with a big fat question mark after Kate (Chalke) sees Tully (Heigl) at her father’s funeral and makes it clear that the TV host is not welcome.
Despite the fact Tully came to pay her respects to Kate’s father, the situation goes south real quick as Kate confirms that their friendship is completely over.
Kate can never forgive Tully for what she did and she can’t believe Tully thinks that she can come back into her life. Problem is, she doesn’t actually reveal what Tully’s crime is.
Also, fans are left wondering if Johnny is dead after he is seen caught up in an explosion while covering the war in Iraq.
What happens next in Firefly Lane season two?
Seeing as the show is based on a book, it’s easy to guess where things might go with the show based on storylines that didn’t make into season one.
In the novel, Kate and Tully fell out after her BFF basically called her a bad mom live on air. Eek!
However, when Kate is diagnosed with breast cancer, the devastating news forces her to reach out to Tully and the pair try to mend their broken friendship.
Sadly, Kate doesn’t make it and Tully is left facing life without the woman who has basically been her soulmate.
The book’s sequel, Fly Away, focuses on Tully as she moves back to her hometown to try and start a new chapter in her life without Kate.
It also leads Tully to confront the issues she has with her mother Dorothy Hart (who is known as Cloud in the Netflix series).
Has Firefly Lane been renewed for a second season?
Not yet – as ever, Netflix won’t be revealing news about a second season for a few weeks after the show drops.
Some shows have been renewed as soon as two weeks after they air, while other take months. We’ll be sure to update you as soon as anything changes.
