ITV’s popular reality show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here returned for its 14th season in 2021 at Gwrych Castle in North Wales.

The programme has been on British TV screens since 2002, but was forced to move from its usual Australian filming location to Wales in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic.

Presented by popular Geordie duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, the show puts celebrity contestants through gruelling challenges while making them survive on basic provisions in a base camp.

Here’s everything you need to know about the future of the series and whether it will return to Wales.

Will there be another series in 2022?

Yes, the show is expected to return to ITV in 2022 but the dates for the next series haven’t yet been announced.

In February 2020, it was widely reported that ITV had renewed the programme for at least four more series which would keep the show on air until at least 2023.

However, ITV have remained tight-lipped on the matter, so we’ll just have to wait and see.

Will I’m A Celebrity return to Wales?

ITV hasn’t confirmed whether the show will return to its original Australian base camp in Queensland or will stay in Wales for another season.

This is likely to depend on the Covid-19 situation next year, and with the recent spike in cases of the Omicron variant causing countries across the world to reintroduce travel restrictions – nothing is certain.

Australia is currently not open for tourism and travel is only allowed for Australian citizens and permanent residents as well as their immediate family members.

Fully vaccinated travellers from a select few countries are allowed in – such as New Zealand and Singapore – but the borders remain closed for most Brits.

There’s no timeline in place for when this could change.
