Will there be another series of Only Connect?

The 17th series of Only Connect comes to an end tonight with its impressive 400th episode – and the fact that it has made 17 series proves it really is the little quiz show that could.

Deliberately baffling and maddeningly abstract, Only Connect invites two teams to compete in a tournament of finding connections between seemingly unrelated clues.

Hosted by Victoria Coren Mitchell, the show first aired on BBC Four between September 2008 and July 2014, before moving over to BBC Two. It remains popular and has continued to find new fans over the years, but will it be back for more?

Will there be a new series of Only Connect?

There hasn’t been any official news either way on whether Only Connect will be back for a new series.

However, the fact that the application site is still open should be enough to warrant some hope for fans of the series…

How to apply for Only Connect

Production company, Parasol Media, currently has a live webpage asking fans to apply for the series.

The page explains that Only Connect is ‘seeking teams of three players or single applicants looking for like-minded teammates to take part in the next series.’

All applicants must be aged 18 or over and be a resident in the UK or Channel Islands.

Past applicants are welcome to apply again.

What do the winners of Only Connect get?

After cracking some of the most infuriating and inspired quiz questions, the victors get… a trophy.

There is no monetary reward or any other gift – like a car, or even a novelty towel – for the winners, but they do get ultimate bragging rights.

Where is Only Connect filmed?

Only Connect is filmed at the Enfys Studios in Cardiff, and has been filmed there since 2014.
