A woman has opened up on taking the plunge by spending her house deposit on travelling to Qatar for the World Cup, claiming the money splash was ‘completely worth it’.
The men’s World Cup is currently in full swing in the Middle East, with England set to go up against Wales tonight in a highly-anticipated clash.
Plenty of Wales and England fans have flocked to the country to support their respective side, with some spending significant amounts of cash to ensure they could be there in person.
One of those individuals was Wales supporter Lauren McNie, who revealed that she prioritised attending the tournament over the money she’d been saving to put down a deposit for her own house back home.
On Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain, Lauren was being interviewed live from Doha when she admitted she had no regrets whatsoever over her big expenditure.
‘Completely worth it. I didn’t spend all my savings, I’ve still got something to go back to. I’ll still get home, I’ll still be fine, but it’s been worth it. I wouldn’t change it for the world,’ she said.

Lauren also threw her support behind Wales to win their match against England, stating: ‘I think we just need to come out fighting, really show the world the passion that we’ve got for our country, the boys on the pitch as well.
‘We just have to go for it, and I’m sure the red will be behind them.’
Actor Michael Sheen, who was born in Newport, Wales, recently went viral for a rousing speech he gave the men’s football team ahead of the World Cup.
The actor dug deep into his theatrical flair as he told the players: ‘When the English come knocking on our door, let’s give them some sugar, boys, let’s give them some Welsh sugar.’
As everyone watched him, captivated, he continued: ‘A victory song that floats through the valleys, like a red mist. Rolls over the mountain tops, like crimson thunder, A red storm is coming to the gates of Qatar.
‘Hear their blood drumming in your ears, Pounding through your heart, Bursting through your chest, That’s the blood of Wales, your blood, red as the ancient book of dreams.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
