*Warning: This article contains huge spoilers from You season 3.*
Netflix’s long-awaited You season three is finally available to watch and fans can finally see the identity of Joe Goldberg’s new neighbour.
Episode one of the psychological thriller sees Joe (played by Penn Badgley) and wife Love Quinn-Goldberg (played by Victoria Pedretti) adjusting to life in the suburbs while raising their newborn baby, Henry Forty Quinn Goldberg.
You would think a newborn baby would be the centre of Joe’s focus, but cue in mysterious neighbour Natalie Engler (played by Michaela Mcmanus).
It’s not long before Joe’s wandering eye follows the beautiful realtor, however unlike previous seasons, Natalie has also been watching Joe too, and she makes it clear she’s fair game.
Natalie invites Joe over for a drink and it isn’t long before the she leads the sociopath upstairs. Although Joe is flattered by Natalie’s advances, he can’t help thinking about the role model he aspires to be for his son, so he shuts her down and walks away.
Although her husband ‘technically’ didn’t fully cheat on his wife, Love finds a hidden box containing Natalie’s underwear, scarf and a tampon… yeah a tampon!
In turn, she arranges some one on one time with an oblivious Natalie, who thinks they’re meeting for a business deal, however the eerie music in the background and the subtle transitions to the axe in the corner prepared viewers to realise this was going to be a short conversation.
Joe’s latest conquest, who we all thought would be one of the main character’s in this highly-anticipated season, is now dead.
Fans have reacted on Twitter to the shock twist.
While actress Michaela McManus is yet to speak on the season’s early twist, Penn recently teased something ‘quite unexpected’ was going to go down in episode one.
Speaking to Access, the former Gossip Girl star said: ‘I think by the end of the first episode, something quite unexpected happens. It’s not outside of the wheelhouse of what would happen, but you might think that would happen at the very end of the season.’
Well he wasn’t lying.
You season 3 is available to stream on Netflix.
