Euphoria fans have something to get excited about, as Zendaya revealed there are special episodes on the way ahead of season two.
And it’s the early Christmas present we’ve all needed.
The actress, who plays Rue Bennett in the beloved series, confirmed the news on Instagram, sending viewers into a frenzy.
Alongside a snap of an eye, the 24-year-old penned: ‘We really missed them. Two special Euphoria episodes coming soon.
‘First one December 6th on @hbo.’
Zendaya also tagged co-star Hunter Schafer in the post, appearing to confirm she would be reprising her role as Jules Vaughn for the episodes.
Fans were beside themselves with the announcement, flocking to the comments to celebrate the news.
‘Buckle your seat belts people!!! Never been soo readyyy [sic],’ one replied, while an Instagram user agreed: ‘OMG YES. Thank you for this.’
‘OHH MY GOD IM SO HAPPY,’ another screamed.
‘Rue Rue about to act up before Christmas,’ a follower suggested.
The first episode is titled Trouble Don’t Last Always, and is set to air on December 6 on HBO in the US.
It takes place after the epic season one finale, and will focus on drug addict Rue as she celebrates Christmas – with coronavirus guidelines in place on set.
There is no information on the second episode just yet – or when the instalments will be available on screens in the UK.
Zendaya previously teased the idea of a ‘bridge episode’ between seasons one and two of the show – but it is unclear if the specials will act as that.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in August, she confirmed: ‘We’re trying to figure out how to eventually be able to create a season two that we’re all really proud of and get all the best out of it that we want but also still being very safe.
‘So, we might end up doing a little bridge episode. I don’t really know how to describe it, but an episode that we can do with a limited amount of people in a safer environment that can, I don’t know, give people something.’
We couldn’t agree more.
