I thought I was already a big Harry Styles fan. That is, until he started wearing nail polish (even more) regularly last year.
I loved One Direction back in the day. I went to see them in concert at a 1,000-person venue in Oxford when they didn’t have a single original song. I watched their X Factor weekly diaries at a friend’s house – the most important 10 minutes of our entire week. I even had a ski accident wearing an “I Love Louis Tomlinson” t-shirt that (devastatingly) got ruined while I was in the hospital. Yeah, I was that level of obsessed. But my diehard fandom took a dip after the band’s separation in 2016. I liked them individually (of course, I’m not a monster), but I wasn’t super fussed. However, since Styles has been stepping out for more appearances and events – although POPSUGAR editor Hedy Phillips (otherwise known as our resident Styles superfan) will argue he never left – I’ve fallen for his indisputable charm. If you’re yet to agree, watch him fill in as guest host for James Corden, fall in love with him, then return to this beauty stan.
My admiration for Harry picked up last year particularly because he wore nail polish more than ever before. Now, I’m pretty much in love with the guy. Styles has never been one to conform to gender stereotypes. He consistently plays around with his fashion, jewellery, and beauty choices. But Styles has stepped out at most events with bright and colourful nails – the 2019 Met Gala, guest appearances, even his latest “Watermelon Sugar” music video, to name a few – and I’m absolutely here for it.
He doesn’t just stick to one simple nail colour, either; he likes to keep up with nail trends, too. We couldn’t get enough of his blue and pink Skittles manicure during a skit on Saturday Night Live in November 2019. And according to his nail artist Jenny Longworth, he also dabbled with a glitter manicure in October 2019 when he performed on Later… with Jools Holland.
Read on to see all the best times Styles was his charismatic self wearing the heck out of his manicure. I’ll just be here waiting for more nail-art inspiration in the coming months.Credit: Original article published here.
