Blackpink Dish on Collaborating With Cardi B, Perform ‘Lovesick Girls’ on ‘Kimmel’: Watch

Blackpink called into Jimmy Kimmel Live! all the way from Seoul on Monday night (Oct. 20) to chat about collaborating with Cardi B on their debut album, their new Netflix documentary and more.

“We used to listen to her song all the time and we were such big fans,” Jennie said of the rapper, who teamed up with the girls on album cut “Bet You Wanna.” “So when we heard she was gonna be a part of our album, we just started screaming and jumping up and down.”

During the interview, Rosé also gave some insight into the group’s decision to title their long-awaited debut studio set, simply The Album.

“We had, like, a bunch of ideas,” she said, “but at the end of the day, we knew that our fans were waiting so much for our album that we decided to go with something that just described it the best. Blackpink: The Album sounded just straightforward.”

When host Jimmy Kimmel asked about their days as trainees, as documented in the Netflix film Blackpink: Light Up the Sky, the K-pop idols gave some more insight into what their schooling was like as teenagers, revealing they had to take lessons in multiple languages such as English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese in addition to learning the art of being a pop star.

Following a commercial break, the foursome also treated their American fans to their debut live performance of their single “Lovesick Girls” on U.S. television.
