Cornwall home for sale at just £100k – but you’ll need to tackle the mess inside

£100,000 is a great price for a two-bedroom home, but this bargain property comes with one major caveat – it’s filled with items from floor to ceiling.

The home, located in the town of Camborne, Cornwall, is up on the market for a low price, but the new buyer has the task of clearing it out and getting it up to a habitable standard.

From the outside the mid-terrace property looks like a quaint, country home. But the clue in the property listing that it’s not exactly move-in ready is ‘in need of extensive renovation.’

The ceiling is caving in the living room and in one of the bedrooms, where the bed is propped up against the wall revealing stains on the carpet.

There are piles of clothes, books, and rubbish littered throughout the house and big bags in the bathroom.

Even the garden is overgrown and needs a lot of work done to it, although the kitchen looks spick and span, which is one less job for the new inhabitant.

It’s not clear whether the previous owner lived at the house, or whose items have been left behind.

The listing with agent, Bradleys, reads: ‘Bradleys are pleased to offer to the market, in need of extensive renovation and updating this two bedroom mid terraced character cottage located within the heart of the historic town of Camborne.’

That seems to be the end of the mention of the mess, though, with the rest of the listing mentioning the property’s double glazing and parking situation.

It’s undoubtedly be a big project for whoever takes it on, but it could still be cost-effective. The average price for a home in Camborne is £191,562, and there’s a lot of potential here to add value.

The picturesque area was once a mining town, and now has a small population of around 20,000, with a shopping centre and amenities close to hand.

You’d need to factor in the price of a skip (or three) to remove the rubbish left in this home. However, for the right buyer, it could be the start of a rewarding project and a great new life in Cornwall.
