This week on Coronation Street, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) faces up against Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).
During Super Soap Week, the plot thickens as the character grows suspicious of the businessman once more – and later discovers a body floating in the canal.
And, with things growing even more dramatic in the aftermath of his discovery, talk is widespread that Tim may be Stephen’s ultimate victim – but we’ll have to wait and see if he’s set to make a tragic exit.
‘Coronation Street’s been absolutely brilliant for me, and it’s been an absolute joy to work on’, Joe told us, reflecting on the prospect of leaving the show.
‘So, if that’s the way the character has to go, that’s the way he has to go, and I’ll just be grateful for the time I’ve spent here. Obviously, I’d be incredibly sad, but that’s the nature of the show.’
Even if he is leaving the programme, Joe’s connection to it will continue because he is married to one of his co-stars, Sally Carman, aka the soap’s Abi Webster.
The couple, who just celebrated a love milestone, recently shared photos from a weekend away in London, where Sally visited sights such as Trafalgar Square and a variety of eateries.
‘Had a lovely couple of days in London with this handsome fella,’ Sally wrote, alongside the carousel of photos. ‘Big shout out to the sun for showing up.’
How long have the pair been together, when did they marry – and do they have children?
How long have Joe Duttine and Sally Carman been together?
Joe and Sally’s relationship rumours initially surfaced in 2018.
The couple was seen at the soap’s summer party that year, amid allegations that they had gone on a number of dates together and informed co-stars they were in a relationship.
In a lovely Instagram post in 2019, Sally announced that she and Joe had moved in together.

Sally captioned the message with : ‘We’re in #homesweethome #thelightisntwonkyhonest’.
They pushed things to the next level when they announced their engagement in 2020, after going into lockdown together.
They announced their joyful news only days after the Coronation Street production was closed down due to the epidemic, with Joe uploading a selfie of him and Sally toasting their wonderful news – with her magnificent emerald ring prominently displayed.
Joe wrote alongside the picture: ‘She said yes everyone, convid 19 can f**k off…’
However, the happy pair subsequently revealed on Lorraine that things were not always simple when they first met.
When asked if the pair clicked immediately, Sally stumbled before she said: ‘… Slowly.
‘Friends for a while but then we started sharing puddings and that’s when I thought maybe something was on the boil.’

Despite their off-screen union, the pair doesn’t have many moments together on the soap, which is a relief for Sally, who has said she finds it quite difficult to work with her other half.
‘He’s the funniest man I’ve ever met, to the point where I get sweaty and everyone’s like: “ugh, can you just get on with it?” she told the Daily Star.
‘I never want to work with him ever again. I just can’t do it!’
How long have Joe Duttine and Sally Carman been married?
After multiple postponements owing to the epidemic, the pair ultimately married in July 2022.
Sally, who was dressed in a blue gown for the occasion, shared the joyful news with her Instagram followers once more, this time with a shot of her and Joe kissing in front of a ring of balloons.

‘We did’, she wrote, followed by a yellow heart emoji, which is perhaps a reference to her social media caption from 2020, when she announced her and Joe’s engagement with a simple: ‘I did’.
They just celebrated their one anniversary, with Joe honouring his wife with a watercolour artwork commemorating the occasion.
‘One year, happy anniversary Mrs,’ he captioned the Instagram post – with co-stars including Andrew Whyment and Sally Ann Matthews among those sending congratulatory messages to the couple.
Do Joe Duttine and Sally Carman have children?
The couple does not have any children.
Sally, on the other hand, is the stepmother of Joe’s three children from a prior relationship, ages 25, 14, and 12.
‘They’re gorgeous kids, it’s so easy and I feel really lucky to have that extension of a family,’ the actress previously told the Mirror.
‘Not to be a mother figure, because they’ve got a mum and they don’t need another, but just to have a relationship and some part in their journey into adulthood is amazing.’
Coronation Street continues on ITV1 on Tuesday night at 8pm.
