Abbey Clancy has humorously reflected on her early days with Peter Crouch, sharing that they slept in the same bed several times before becoming intimate.
During a recent episode of their podcast, The Therapy Crouch, released on Tuesday, the couple was joined by comedian Joel Dommett and his wife Hannah Cooper.
Abbey, known for sharing amusing stories about her husband’s quirks, revealed details about their relationship’s early stages dating back to 2006.
Abbey, 38, disclosed that when they first got together, they didn’t immediately become intimate, playfully admitting she was a bit standoffish.
‘You took me to the pub opposite your house. He said “You want to come back to mine? I can see my window from here.” I said “No, take me home now!”’
Abbey added, ‘We slept in the same bed multiple times before being intimate. I was a bit of a fridge.’
Peter joked, ‘I remember it well. It was great, yeah, I loved it.’
The pair met in Liverpool in 2006, though their first date had its challenges.
‘Did he make you buy a drink on the first date? Because Pete did. I’ve never bought a drink before I met you,’ Abbey shared.
She explained that she was 19 at the time, living with her mother, and earning very little.
‘Bear in mind, I had like £7 for the date. Pete ordered a Guinness, and I was worried I couldn’t afford it. So I ordered a Guinness for him and a tap water for myself, pretending I wasn’t drinking.’
Abbey joked that she shouldn’t have to buy her own drinks but laughed it off as part of their memorable beginnings.
The couple will celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary this year and have been together for 19 years.
They share four children: Sophia Ruby (born March 2011), Liberty Rose (born June 2015), Johnny (born January 2018), and Jack (born June 2019).
The Therapy Crouch releases new episodes every Friday on YouTube, Apple, and Spotify.
