This holiday season, the Beyhive is buzzing with speculation on the possibility that Queen B will release some music videos for the songs on her album Renaissance.
Beyonce has not yet released a full music video for any of the tracks on her album that was released in July. Nevertheless, she has had fans on the edge of their seats by dropping visuals here and there.
In recent days, however, the hitmaker, who is 41 years old, sent out a Christmas card, which has set Twitter ablaze with speculation that a music video is finally on its way.
The greeting card in question was distributed to just a small number of people, primarily journalists, and it depicts a portrait of Yonce on the front of the card. Yonce is seen wearing a puffy bustier and a white cowboy hat.
The message inside reads: ‘Wishing you and your family the most joyous holiday season. Love Beyoncé and the Parkwood team.’
It didn’t take long before photos of the card started doing the social media rounds, prompting one fan to write: ‘ok so it’s winter renaissance meaning that the visuals will be coming in winter & summer renaissance is the tour and they’re all under the renaissance project but she also has hints for the next alleged country project (thus the cowboy hat).’
Another added that ‘Beyoncé is coming!’ while a third Beyoncé fan tweeted: ‘It’s going to be a renaissance of the renaissance album over these winter months where we get a deluxe edition AND the visuals.’
Not all of Beyoncé’s fans interpreted the card as some sort of cryptic music video confirmation, with one person tweeting: ‘It’s simply a Christmas card people… that’s all , Beyoncé really got y’all out here lookin desperate.’
Others echoed ‘It’s just a holiday greeting card’ and ‘It’s a Christmas card. Not an album.’
Worst of all, recipients of Yonce’s card also seemed to think it was nothing more than a festive gesture, with The Root’s Editor in Chief Vanessa Karen De Luca writing next to a photo of her card: ‘It’s just a Christmas card. That’s it. But always nice to be thought of.’
Journalist Louis Pisano added: ‘It’s the Beyoncé/Parkwood friends/family/press Christmas card. Calm down.’
While fans are still eager for Beyoncé to deliver some official music videos, the star has confirmed a Renaissance tour will take place in 2023.
Her seventh studio album was released in July, but Beyoncé remained silent on when she’d embark on a world tour and give us all the opportunity to dance our little hearts out to bangers such as Cuff It, Break My Soul and Alien Superstar.
But when Beyoncé and her husband Jay Z attended the Wearable Art Gala in California back in October, it was revealed that Queen B put a ‘concert ticket package’ up for auction for the Renaissance world tour.
The Wearable Art Gala is a fundraiser that aims to support WACO’s (Where Art Can Occur Theatre Center) artistic and mentorship programs, hence the generous offer.
A listing appeared on-screen at the event and read: ‘Concert Ticket Package. Valued at a total of $20,000, United x WACO offers you a chance to see Beyoncé on her Renaissance Tour starting in the Summer of 2023 at any of United’s national and international destinations around the world.
‘This prize is complete with 2 First Class International United Airline Polaris tickets to select cities, with 3-Night hotel accommodations at a Marriott property.
‘And, to one of the most sought-after musical performances of all time, 2 concert tickets to Beyoncé’s Renaissance 2023 Tour with a guided backstage tour with Miss Tina!’
So, while Beyoncé is yet to announce the *official* spate of Renaissance tour dates, it’s safe to say they’re on the way.
