Britney Spears has agreed to go to Hawaii with her ex-husband Kevin Federline and their two boys.
Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16, are the children of the former couple’s two-year marriage, which terminated in divorce in 2007.
Federline, 45, reportedly contacted his ex-wife’s attorneys with a deadline to sign off on his relocation plans, reportedly telling them they had until Friday to agree to his request to transfer his two boys to a new house or he will take the matter to a judge in court.
According to Federline’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan’s statements to TMZ, the Hit Me Baby One More Time star’s lawyer Mathew Rosengart received many requests for approval by letter or email.
Federline hopes to relocate to Hawaii with his boys and wife Victoria Prince on August 1 but is having difficulty making arrangements without the popstar’s approval, including renting a property for his family.
Prince has a job offer in the sports department of a small institution in the state, which is why they are relocating.
Kaplan stated that there should be no problems with the relocation because Federline had complete legal and de facto physical custody of both children, and that the Toxic hitmaker hadn’t seen the two boys in over a year.
Now, Kaplan has confirmed to People magazine that Spears, 41, has ‘consented’ to the move.
‘It’s an opportunity for Kevin and his wife, and the boys are ready to get away from the L.A. microscope,’ he added.
The transfer will also include Federline and Prince’s two young children, Jordan, 11, and Peyton, 8, and will take place after Sean graduates from high school.
Jayden will complete his last year from Hawaii.
A source told DailyMail.com that Spears has ‘always been a loving and supportive mother’ and never opposed Federline’s plan to move.
The insider told the publication: ‘Britney loves her children, has always supported them, and wants them to be happy.
‘Putting aside that she is an icon, loved and respected by millions throughout the world, she has been a loving and supportive mother, faithfully supporting her children.’
They also accused her ex-husband of ‘manufacturing a phoney disagreement’ over the issue.
Spears is presently married to model and actor Sam Asghari, whom she married on June 9 in a grandiose wedding, while Federline and Prince married in 2013.
