During her divorce, Britney Spears received a fresh tattoo of a frightening animal.
The Toxic singer, 41, is presently on vacation in Mexico after her 14-month spouse, Sam Asghari, filed for divorce.
She and Sam had been dating for six years, and he had been at her side during her conservatorship, proposing to and marrying the celebrity after the contentious agreement was overturned.
Now, despite claims that Britney is paying $10,000 (£8,000) each month for Sam’s new fancy rental property, the Everytime singer has fresh snake tattoos on her body.
The actress debuted her new body art – a modest, little snake towards the bottom of her spine – in an Instagram video to admirers, showing her receiving the tattoo in what looked to be someone’s flat.
She sat backwards on a chair to allow the tattoo artist to work on her back, and while making faces and breathing heavily, she said, ‘It doesn’t hurt that bad, honestly.’
Fans have been discussing the significance of the tattoo, with some speculating that it represents betrayal and distrust – or, as one fan put it,’she’s been carrying snakes on her back her entire life.’
Others thought it was a nod to one of her “most legendary performances” – who can forget Britney taking the stage with a python wrapped over her shoulders at the 2001 VMAs?
The new tattoo comes amid reports that Britney was concerned Sam was conspiring with her father, Jamie Spears, to keep her under conservatorship for years.
According to MailOnline, a source claimed the A-lister worried ‘Sam was secretly working with her dad Jamie since early on in their relationship.
‘Sam would supply information to Jamie that would help to keep her locked in the conservatorship. In exchange, Sam was given access to her and her money. Britney now feels like Sam was being deceitful all along.’
The former couple began dating in 2016 and married last summer, with Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, and Madonna among the celebrities in attendance.
After her husband filed for divorce, Britney told fans she ‘couldn’t take the anguish longer,’ but she would remain strong in the face of hardship.
Documents filed in a Los Angeles court claimed ‘irreconcilable issues’ and showed that the pair separated over three weeks before their breakup became public knowledge.
