Britney Spears is upset when accusations emerged that her husband and management had planned an intervention for her amid worries she may ‘die’.
The Toxic singer, 41, was released from her controversial conservatorship after 13 years last year, and she has been distant from her family, frequently criticising her mother, father, and sister on social media.
Britney has married long-term lover Sam Asghari, scored a hit with Sir Elton John, and gone on multiple vacations since her release, but she appears to prefer spending time at home, with most of her social media posts showcasing footage or photographs of her in her home.
Britney’s year has been up and down, with her recently retaliating against fans who phoned the cops on her because she temporarily deactivated her Instagram account, and growing agitated during a rare outing to a restaurant when customers began photographing her.
Now Britney has written a furious statement following reports she was due an intervention, after sources told TMZ and People that her inner circle, including her husband and manager, were planning an intervention that was scrapped last minute, with one source claiming they were concerned Britney had become so erratic she could ‘die’.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, Brit raged: ‘It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died … I mean at some point enough is enough !!!’

She stated that she will ‘definitely’ have to’stop posting on Instagram because, while I like it, there are certainly a lot of people who don’t wish me well.’
She added that she was ‘doing the best I could,’ and reminded fans that her conservatorship was over and that it was ‘no longer 2007’.
‘As my hubby says it best: don’t believe everything you read!!!’ she remarked, referring to husband Sam, who denied an intervention had occurred. All that love right back at ya !!!’
Following claims in TMZ and People, Sam informed Access Hollywood that ‘no intervention occurred.’
‘My wife is in full control of her life and will continue to make all decisions involving her care regardless of circumstances. Speculation on her health is inappropriate and should end immediately’
It comes after a source informed TMZ that Britney’s husband, manager, team, and physicians planned to take her to a rented property for an intervention in order to persuade her that she needed treatment.
According to the source, Britney was supposed to remain in the leased property for up to two months while getting treatment, including counselling, but the intervention was cancelled at the last minute because she became’somewhat aware’ of what was going on.
According to one person close to the issue, they were ‘afraid she’d die,’ while several people stated she was frequently ‘flying off the handle’ and taking drugs to ‘pump her up’ while not taking medication that stabilised her.
