Cara Delevingne is the latest star to make a huge tattoo error.
The model is no stranger to getting inked, as she already has an extensive collection of tattoos on her body, including a lion, her initials, and a’made in England’ mark on her foot.
Her most recent tattoo, though, made viewers squirm when they saw the embarrassing spelling typo.
Cara, 31, posed for images released by her tattoo artist after getting a tattoo of a woman’s face on her arm, along with the word ‘Dormiveglia’ and its dictionary description.
This is an Italian term that translates to ‘semi-conscious state.’
However, tattooist Matteo Nangeroni has changed the word ‘waking’ to ‘walking,’ which alters the meaning of the statement.
When this was pointed out in the social media comments, the artist insisted that this was Cara’s ‘vision.’
‘Dormiveglia for Cara • It was an honour and a pleasure to meet you🖤’, his caption read.
Picking up on the mistake instantly, one follower commented: ‘Nooo….you spelled it wrong 😑 it’s supposed to be “waking” not WALKING 😭’
Another wrote: ‘was “walking” instead of “waking” a choice or a typo?’
Replying to one comment, tattooist Matteo wrote back: ‘maybe we choose like that? Compliments you can read 😱’
Comments of the post also included fans expressing discomfort that Cara was topless for the pic when she simply had her arm tatted.
‘Cool tat. Why is she naked? 🙂’, one asked.
But, Cara was quick to jump in and explain.
The Victoria’s Secret model wrote: ‘Just to be clear to everyone! I chose to take my bra off, the picture didn’t look good with my bra on.
‘I am a perfectionist especially when it comes to photography and I was trying to help make something beautiful.
‘Everyone calm down please. Thank you x’
Tattooist Matteo later also wrote: ‘Why “Naked”? Why walking instead of waking? Maybe because everyone has her/his own vision.’
Cara received her first finger tattoo in 2013, a lion to reflect her Leo zodiac sign.
She currently has more than 20 tattoos on her body.
Some of her earlier tattoos had particular meaning, such as ex-girlfriend Ashley Benson’s eyes on the back of her neck, while Ashley had Cara’s initials tatted on her.
Not only does she have matching tattoos with friends Kaia Gerber and Paris Jackson, but she also has complementary ink with them.
Other ideas, however, appear much more rogue, such as the phrase ‘bacon’ on the sole of her foot – each to their own!
When it comes to tattoos, the runway sensation recently said that her first one was a form of rebellion.
Cara hopes to erase several of her tattoos for a ‘new start’ after a spell in rehab and a 12-step therapy programme.
She told Vogue’s March issue: ‘At that time you couldn’t get tattoos because it was part of your modeling contract, and they kind of owned your body.
‘Fresh start,’ she smiled about getting them removed.
