Carol Vorderman responded to allegations made by an MP’s wife that the former Countdown anchor was “inciting people to hate all Tories.”
In the midst of the nasty remarks, the 62-year-old television host took to Twitter and posted facts that she believed supported her position.
Along with a breakdown of British Army salary, the star chastised Conservative MP Johnny Mercer and his wife Felicity Cornelius-Mercer for their incomes.
She penned: ‘The Neil and Christine Hamilton of today? @JohnnyMercerUK and his wife.
‘He said yday military personnel don’t need to go to foodbanks He earns over £110k as a Minister & pays her in his office £35-40k.
‘She’s paid more than Army officer & TWICE more than young soldier. RT [sic].’

Carol’s answer was in response to Felicity’s love for her, as revealed in a recent podcast episode.
She told the host of the Difficult Women podcast – Rachel Johnson, sibling of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson – that Carol ‘drives me up the f***ing wall!’
The politician’s wife went on to acknowledge that she didn’t usually ‘get freaked out by people,’ but that ‘these celebrity attack dogs who know nothing about politics, there’s obviously an argument to be had about that.’
She continued expressing: ‘But I understand everyone has an opinion on politics … but for me it’s this blanket hatred, inciting people to hate all Tories.
‘Hate all Tories, or hate all Labour, hate everyone who falls under a certain umbrella.’

Explaining that MPs are ‘all very different’, she outlined: ‘There’s a huge range of personalities, different opinions, views, principles. You can’t blanket hate. This is what she seems to be doing.
‘She’s using words like “disgusting, I’m disgusted.” I find it really hard.’
Fans on Twitter reacted to Carol’s post by defending her in the comments, with one commenting, ‘I had this identical idea yesterday!’
Another said: ‘I think you are just doing such an amazing job calling this lot out! Thank you! [sic],’ followed by a red love heart emoji.
‘You tell them Carol [sic],’ a follower of the star wrote underneath her tweet that sparked plenty of debate online.
