When fans spotted an odd aspect about Chris Hemsworth’s ice bath, they all said the same thing.
The Thor actor took replenishment to a new level by first resting in a hot sauna then putting himself into an icy bath.
Chris is almost as well-known for his muscles as he is for his acting, so he knows what he’s talking about when he says there’s ‘no better way to complete a workout’ – but we believe we’ll stick to the spa’s jacuzzi after a sauna and leave the ice baths to him.
On Wednesday, the Marvel star turned to Instagram, where he initially uploaded a photo of the inside of a little wooden sauna, flashing his best blue steel to the camera as he sweated it out.
The video footage that followed showed Chris clambering into an ice bath, inhaling deeply as the chilling cold water impacted his system.
And, while staying immersed proved to be difficult, Chris argues that the benefits far exceed the drawbacks.

He wrote there was ‘no better way to finish a workout’ than to ‘combine a sauna with an ice bath.’
It’s ‘an effective way to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, speed up muscle recovery and elevate your mood.’
He explained: ‘The heat from the sauna causes blood vessels to dilate, which improves blood flow and reduces inflammation. The cold from the ice bath causes blood vessels to constrict, which improves circulation and reduces muscle soreness.
‘This contrast between hot and cold temperatures helps to improve overall recovery and reduce the risk of injury.’
Chris’ video proved popular with fans – not least because eagle-eyed followers notice the ice bath was from a company called Odin, and, naturally, the Thor references came thick and fast.

‘Thor is chilling in Odin’s tub,’ one commenter laughed, while another agreed it was a ‘brilliant name.’
‘You see the name on that? That’s my dad’s!’ another joked.
Many said the same thing, excited by the unintentional Marvel reference, with none declaring: ‘Can we talk about thought that he is using an ice bath with the name Odin on the front of it (sic)!’

And the official Odin Ice Bath accounts even got in on the fun, writing: ‘Making me proud son!’
Plenty of people appreciated the semi-scientific explanation of the benefits of an ice bath, but most were willing to ‘take your word for it’,’ and wouldn’t be trying it themselves.
Chris, on the other hand, clearly knows what he’s doing when it comes to muscle mass, as he showed off his very buff body earlier this month while surfing to celebrate his 40th birthday.
The two were spotted enjoying waves with brother Liam Hemsworth of The Hunger Games fame as they sailed through Byron Bay on their boards.
The Marvel superhero frequently posts about his exercises on social media, with one noteworthy post earlier this year revealing that he’s logged almost 200 minutes underwater holding his breath.
