Hulk Hogan has claimed that a mysterious ‘business issue’ has caused his Netflix biography to seek a new home.
The WWE Hall of Famer’s life was supposed to be converted into a blockbuster on Netflix, with Chris Hemsworth playing the musclebound wrestler, but there have been little updates in a long time.
Even the leading guy looked to be in the dark until now, when Hogan sought to cast some light on the matter.
‘Yes, I do [have an update]. So it was a situation where business-wise, Netflix kind of like missed the date, you know, as far as a business situation. And so I had the choice at that time to switch gears,’ he told Insight With Chris Van Vliet.
Hogan revealed he was thrilled about the project, which was written by Scott Silver and was going to be directed by Todd Phillips, but an unidentified ‘glitch’ caused the deal to fall through.
‘I just thought, “Whoa”, but all of a sudden there was a business glitch, you know, and then they tried to fix it a few days later. And I’d already decided to move on. So, my life rights and stuff are somewhere else now,’ he teased.

‘And there are a lot of things that are getting ready to happen. And hopefully, Todd Phillips and Chris Hemsworth will still want to play. But there’s still a huge opportunity there.’
We still know very little about the project, but based on who has been cast thus far, Hogan appears to have been happy with the writing.
He said: ‘Scott Silver wrote the script, you know, he wrote The Joker and a bunch of different movies. And of course, Todd Phillips has done The Joker, Wolf of Wall Street and you know, whatever. All the crazy stuff that he did.’
He even likened the film to masterpieces like True Romance and The Godfather, although it’s unclear when or if viewers will be able to see it for themselves.
‘But yeah, the script came back. It was amazing,’ he added. ‘I mean, because my favorite movies are like Scarface, The Godfather, True Romance, it was there, it was there.’
