Christine McGuinness is facing a fresh challenge in her divorce from husband Paddy McGuinness, as he begins dating again.
After 11 years of marriage, the TV personality, 35, and Top Gear actor, 50, announced their divorce last year.
Paddy and Christine, however, have continued to live together with their three children, Penelope and Leo, both 10, and Felicity, seven, who are ignorant that their parents are no longer together.
While Christine has previously stated that she is “terrified” of dating again, ex Paddy has begun to see other women.
Speaking on Vicky Pattison’s podcast The Secret To… Christine said she and Paddy ‘talk an awful lot’, so she’s in the loop with his love life.
She shared: ‘We’re very open. He has said to me when he’s been going on a date.
‘We still live in the same house. But I think both of us right now, we’re very much in the same place, where we’re just, like, just don’t really know what to do or where to go.’
The mum-of-three continued: ‘We’ve been in this [relationship] for 16 years. I’ve been with him since I was 19, so my dating history before him was an absolute mess, then I’ve had this lovely long marriage.’
‘I kind of don’t really know where to go, where to start, and he’s the same, he’s very much the same,’ she confessed about moving on with someone new.
‘He’s tried it and he’s gone, “I’m not quite ready”.’
Christine believes that dating will be ‘easier’ after she and Paddy are no longer living together.
The reality star went on to reveal that, despite her divorce from Paddy over two years ago, she ‘had not gone on a date.’
‘I’ve chatted, I’ve had fun at times, I cannot even think about dating or, like, a serious relationship. I get a message and I go, “Ugh, God no”.’
Christine also stated that she has never used a dating site and that she finds it difficult to determine if someone is interested in her romantically or platonically.
‘I just think everyone’s being friendly. If someone goes, “Oh, you look lovely, you look really beautiful”, I’d go, “Thanks, so do you, you look great.”
‘At what point do you kind of assume they might want a bit more?’
Christine had previously been the subject of reports that she was dating Chelcee Grimes, which she has not confirmed nor refuted.
The Real Housewives of Orange County star and footballer, 31, were pictured kissing at Winter Wonderland last year and have continued to put on cuddly displays on Instagram, with insiders earlier suggesting Chelcee had been a shoulder to rest on throughout Christine’s divorce.
Despite their dating difficulties, Christine and Paddy continue to prioritise their autistic children.
Insiders previously told New Magazine that the former couple ‘are stronger than ever as co-parents’ because they’ve ‘put the hurt behind them and are making things work for the children.’
Christine and Paddy stated in their divorce announcement last summer that they will be civil co-parents.
Their statement read: ‘A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children.
‘This was not an easy decision to make but we’re moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children.
‘We’ll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.’
