David Beckham had a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the FA Cup final, which he shared with his eldest son Brooklyn Beckham.
David’s previous side, Manchester United, faced Manchester City in London’s Wembley Stadium, but it was Man City who came out on top, winning 2-1.
Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions prevailed as captain Ilkay Gundogan scored the quickest goal in FA Cup final history after only 13 seconds.
It was understandable that the audience was overwhelmed, with David and Brooklyn swinging from one extreme to the other as they watched the events unfold on the pitch.
The footballing legend and his chef son, dressed in smart suits, first made dismal faces when Man City scored their opening goal – no prizes for guessing who they were rooting for.
But they soon had reason to get up, with Becks leaping from his seat and pounding the air in celebration after Bruno Fernandes’ score.
Unfortunately, they were quickly humbled when their team was beaten and did not win the trophy.
But football is the true winner, right, David?
Cruz, the youngest Beckham son, joined the couple and dressed similarly to his father.
People naturally approached David as he sat in the stands for a discussion.
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak greeted the former LA Galaxy star and shook his hand as he passed by.
David, now a father of four, began his football career with Manchester United when he was 17, and he remains devoted to the club to this day.
Meanwhile, his second eldest son, Romeo, has dabbled in sports.
The 20-year-old is an attacker for Brentford B, who is on loan from Inter Miami II.
It’s been a busy week for the Beckhams, who were in the audience at Sir Elton John’s concert a few days ago, singing out all of his classics.
David, accompanied by Harper, 11, displayed his own remarkable falsetto as he fervently sang along to the music legend’s final London gig.
But don’t worry, he’s not going into music, having maintained a passion in football since leaving in 2013.
He is presently one of Inter Miami’s owners, however the team is undergoing various changes.
He issued a message to Phil Neville after his firing as head coach on Thursday.
In a statement posted on the club’s website, David said: ‘When we appointed Phil we knew he would give Inter Miami his all and I have watched him work incredibly hard and with real commitment towards the ambitions we set out for the club.
‘He and his family embraced Miami and he has devoted himself to the drive to bring success to the city and to our fans.
‘Phil has made a real contribution to the culture of our club with his qualities as a leader and knowledge as a coach.
‘Sometimes in this game we have to make the toughest decisions and sadly we feel the time is right to make a change.
‘I want to personally thank Phil for his hard work, his passion for our Club and for his integrity as a person.’
