David Beckham couldn’t let 2023 go by without one final dig at his wife Victoria Beckham.
The couple made news earlier this year after a Netflix documentary deconstructed the former Manchester United footballer’s career.
Viewers were given a front-row ticket to the 48-year-old’s rise to superstardom, but one scene stood out when the Spice Girl, 49, spoke about her background and’very working class’ upbringing, with the scene quickly becoming an instant meme.
The England ace remarked on the film on Instagram, where he uploaded a photo of himself with the Spice Girl and her parents on a very posh occasion.
‘Just a nice casual New Year’s Eve lunch at The Ritz @victoriabeckham,’ he penned. ‘Very working class. My mother & father in law left in there Roll’s [sic].’
Victoria ignored the joke and simply replied: ‘Special NY Eve I love you xxxxxxx.’

Others were loving the not-so-subtle quip in the comments below, with one praising: ‘Elite sense of humour.’
A follower said: ‘I too would have a stool for my bag. God love Posh!’
‘Very working class,’ another agreed.
‘Ahahaha u still haven’t left that joke from the documentary [sic],’ an Instagram user laughed.
‘Hahaha love how he rinses her still haha,’ a commenter cheered.
As a fan added: ‘You saved the best caption of the year on the last day of the year. Bravo!’
In case you missed it, David and Victoria opened up their house for the four-part series in October and proved to be TV gold.
At one point, the fashion and cosmetics entrepreneur sat down for an on-camera interview in which she talked about her childhood.
‘We’re very, very working class,’ she said, before being interrupted by the athlete, who jumped in from behind a door.
David pressed her to be truthful, which she opposed, and questioned the automobile his father-in-law drove her to school in.
‘It’s not a simple answer, it depends,’ Victoria insisted, before relenting: ‘Okay, in the 80s, my dad had a Rolls-Royce.’
‘Thank you,’ her husband smugly said before disappearing from the shot, leaving viewers howling.
In true VB form, she quickly released a slogan T-shirt which read: ‘My Dad Had A Rolls Royce’.
We are honestly not worthy of the Beckhams.
