Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti gave us all palpitations with what looked like a marriage proposal.
The Love Island 2022 winners captured the hearts of the nation (and each other) this summer, with their hilarious bickering and adorable confessions of love on the ITV dating show.
Still going strong, Ekin and Davide have travelled to Rome for their first Christmas together, shortly after splashing out on their first home as a couple.
While in Rome, Italian stallion Davide wooed Ekin in the best way – with a Cartier ring, which he gifted to her during a rooftop dinner. Honestly, how dreamy?
However, when the pair posted a video of the special moment, fans were left both confused and slightly panicked, as they thought Davide had already popped the question.
The sweet clip shows the businessman handing Turkish actress Ekin a red gift bag, capturing her stunned reaction as she pulls out the jewellery box.
A beaming Davide then slides the gold band onto her ring finger, but without getting down on one knee.
They share a kiss and giggle away like loved-up teenagers. Seriously, our hearts can’t cope!
‘Our first Christmas together and our first time in Rome together’, Davide began in his caption.
‘It was missing something on that hands tho 👀❤️’, he added, causing their fans to flock to the comments to try and figure out what was going on.
‘Is this an engagement or not?! I can’t tell 😂 mom and dad, help us’, one wrote.
‘He didn’t get down on one knee might be a promise ring?’, commented another.
Demanding clarity, one fan commented: ‘Can I assume its NOT an engagement ring????’

Ok, we’re pretty certain it’s a promise ring and just the couple’s way of making a commitment to each other, but this may or may not have given us butterflies imagining the day an EkinDe proposal does happen…
Ekin later gave her loyal followers a close-up look at her new accessory, tweeting that she was ‘over the moon’, alongside a snap of her hand, showcasing the ring in all its glory.
For those wondering, a Cartier band will set you back at least £1,000, so it looks like Davide has been using the cash from his post-villa brand deals to treat his favourite lady.
