Elliot Page has been praising his physique as he confessed that he never believed he would experience ‘the joy’ he feels in it.
On Wednesday, the 36-year-old X-Men star took to Instagram with a positive message and a shirtless photo.
In the selfie, Elliot, who rocketed to popularity as a youngster owing to starring parts in films such Juno and Hard Candy, is seen chest up and smiling as he squints into the camera, wearing a silver chain around his neck and a baseball cap.
‘Dysphoria used to be especially rife in the summer. No layers, just a T-shirt – or layers and oh so sweaty – constantly looking down, readjusting my oversized T,’ he wrote in the caption.
The actor continued: ‘It feels so f’ing good soaking in the sun now, I never thought I could experience this, the joy I feel in my body.
‘I am so grateful for what gender affirming care has allowed me and I look forward to sharing more of my journey soon. #transjoy’

Elliot’s fans were delighted to see him so happy, with one penning: ‘So grateful to witness this new and free expression of you!’
‘We love to see some trans joy,’ added another, alongside a smiley face emoji.
‘So handsome 😍😍😍,’ chimed in actress Rose Tamblyn.
The Umbrella Academy star has been sharing updates and milestones since coming out as transgender in 2020, and his biography Pageboy is due out on June 6.
His role on Gerard Way’s show has also been modified to reflect his transformation.
Last July he altered his passport photo to suit his gender identification, sharing it on social media at the time and admitting: ‘Never thought I would adore a passport photo.’
Opening out on how his transition altered his life, he previously told Seth Meyers on his late-night talk show: ‘I believe it’s made me better in so many areas. As an individual, as a friend, and in relationships…
‘It’s improved my life drastically, and I hope that people who do have an issue with me could try and hear that and embrace that on some level.
‘What I want to focus on right now, and has been so extraordinary, is the degree of joy that I feel, the degree of presence that I feel.‘I feel a way that I really never thought possible for a long, long time. That’s really what I’m focusing on and embracing the most.’
