Emily Atack uploaded stunning photos of herself caressing her developing baby belly.
The comedian and actress, who rose to prominence with her iconic part in The Inbetweeners, revealed in December that she was expecting her first child.
Since the initial announcement, Emily, 34, has been rather silent on social media, but she did upload two adorable photographs to her Instagram story on Saturday.
In these, the mother-to-be, who is expecting her kid with childhood friend and’step-cousin’ Dr. Alistair Garner, smiles lovingly while supporting her belly in a mirror selfie.
Emily wears a black tank top and tracksuit trousers, her blonde hair carelessly touching her face, and raises up the tank to show off her developing bump, her hand tucked protectively beneath it.
The actress first revealed her pregnancy in a beautiful statement, claiming she was filled with ‘thrill, terror, excitement, hysteria, capped off with a lot of puking.’
‘I’m doing my absolute best to make it a home for the little squid I’m growing,’ she added.
Addressing her fans directly, Emily added: ‘You’ve always stuck by me through the years, do stick around to watch me enter my mum era. Christ. Let’s go.’
Emily’s path has been somewhat unique thus far, since it was revealed shortly after her pregnancy announcement that the father of her kid is technically related to her – but not by blood.
Dr. Garner is the son of her late uncle, Dr. Stephen Garner, who married Emily’s biological aunt Jane Robbins in 1994.
When the link was disclosed, a source claimed the couple had ‘become close’ over the last year, and while their personal relationship was ‘unexpected’, their family was ‘delighted’ for them.
‘They make a great couple and everybody is excited for their new arrival,’ a source told Mail Online.
The pair has kept out of the spotlight, but in the days after Emily’s announcement that she was expecting, they were observed walking down the street hand in hand, looking like a team in anticipation of their new arrival.
While little is known about Alistair, the aerospace and nuclear applications specialist served as a lecturer at the University of Manchester, where he also earned his PhD and Masters.
The couple grew up together, with Alistair’s father marrying Jane in 1994, when Emily was five years old.
It’s unclear how close they were as youngsters, but Emily was quite close to her uncle, writing a tribute on Instagram after he died.
Emily was previously in a relationship with Big Brother star Liam McGough, which ended in 2022.
