Emma Corrin has shared their thoughts on filming intimate scenes for Netflix’s upcoming Lady Chatterley’s Lover.
The Crown star revealed they felt ‘empowered’ while acting out raunchy minutes for the retelling of the classic story written by English author D. H. Lawrence in 1928.
Describing the sex scenes as ‘really beautiful’, the 26-year-old explained how the film is set to break barriers in its depiction of a woman in control of her sexuality.
In the same vein, Emma – who identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns – added an opinion on the empowering nature of the film and explained that it will prove ‘it’s okay for women to want pleasure’.
The streaming giant’s latest big release was adapted from the notorious novel that became known for its explicit descriptions, use of four-letter words and portrayal of a relationship between a working-class man and upper-class woman.
Offering a taste of what’s to come, the uncensored version of the infamous story was banned in the UK at the time for being too racy to read.

While Emma took on the role of Lady Constance ‘Connie’ Chatterley, Skins star Jack O’Connell acted alongside them as Oliver Mellors.
Emma told People on the film’s potential to empower more women: ‘A journey that I think a lot of women go on is finding that power in your sexuality, and also knowing that it’s okay to want pleasure and to strive for pleasure.
‘And for that to be a really powerful and beautiful thing and not something that you need to not acknowledge at all, or feel bad about, or shame over.’

They continued by labelling the sex scenes as ‘a really beautiful thing’ and mentioned their ability to give power to both the actors and the audience.
Keeping the conversation going, they also told The Times: ‘I really loved the centring of female pleasure and sex in the story.’
Last week, the star revealed behind-the-scenes snaps to their Instagram followers and offered a glimpse of life on the Netflix set.
The gallery featured videos and pictures from dressing rooms and from behind the camera.
Joking about the raunchy nature of the production, she added into her caption: ‘Any children conceived after the watching of this film must be called emma [sic].’
Lady Chatterley’s Lover is available to stream on Netflix now.
