After Prince William attacked his presenting talents on Thursday, Radio 1 DJ Greg James had the perfect response for him.
Addressing the remark while hosting his BBC programme, the 37-year-old broadcaster didn’t hold back while offering the famous figure some scathing criticism of his own.
In the video, which Greg published on social media, Prince William tells colleague BBC DJ Vick Hope, 34, that the celebrity is “average.”
The 41-year-old prince was standing next to his wife Kate, also 41, when he explained: ‘I’ve listened to Radio 1 since I was tiny, I’ve always listened to it and I’ve heard many of you guys come and go – all the presenters over the years.
‘So I can confidently conclude that Greg James is an average DJ and Jordan and Vick are the future.’
The video then cut to a close-up of the irritated star’s face in the studio, where he reacted to the insult.

‘I don’t really know how to… they don’t really have a go at anyone,’ the shocked presenter began.
He continued: ‘My nan’s going to be cross! When I listened to it my initial reaction was, “Alright calm down baldy”, but you can’t say that in retaliation so I would never say that on the radio – but yeah, weird one.’
Greg then started reading out listener texts in response to Prince William’s mocking.
One fan of the show suggested Greg ‘egg his house’, to which he surmised, ‘I would bloody love to egg his house’.
Uploading the moment to his Instagram account, the star referenced the caller’s advice when he captioned his post with: ‘Where’s good to bulk buy eggs?’
Greg’s pain was not forgotten by the palace, as the Prince and Princess of Wales’ Instagram account left him a sweet remark beneath his video.
It penned: ‘We love you really Greg!,’ and signed it with a ‘W’, signalling the message was from Prince William.
Elsewhere other celebrity friends wanted to join in on the joke with pop duo Jedward leaving a comment that read: ‘A humbling moment maybe someday you’ll get the seal of approval’.
Greg’s wife, successful novelist Bella Mackie, had her say and typed, ‘Barney is a republican now.’
His clap back came after he offered a divisive viewpoint of his own and divulged his unfavourable views on wedding venues.
The star explained: ‘If the people who are getting married aren’t from that place, and have no connection to it, why are you basically forcing everyone to go on holiday with you?
‘We need to, you know, save some money, fly less. We don’t need to be doing that. Forcing someone to go on holiday for your wedding I think is not OK.’
