Pink and her husband Carey Hart are celebrating their 18th wedding anniversary following a difficult period in which they nearly ‘didn’t make it’.
The 44-year-old So What singer and husband Carey have been dating for 22 years and married in 2006.
They have two children together: Willow, 12, and Jameson, 6, and while they look to be stronger than ever, Pink has acknowledged they had considered breaking up in the past.
Pink, actual name Alecia Beth Moore, celebrated their anniversary on Instagram with a collection of photos of the couple over the years.
She began by labelling the romantic photos: “Love is a lifetime of coming back to the table.”
‘We almost didn’t make it to this one, well a couple of them, if I’m being honest.’
Addressing her husband directly, she went on: ‘When I met you, 22 years ago, I just wanted someone that wouldn’t lie to me.
‘I didn’t have a clue about commitment, building a life together, intimacy, trust.’
While admitting marriage is ‘f*****g hard,’ she said she was ‘humbled by the surprise of loyalty, history, forgiveness, and resilience. How love rearranges itself and reappears after an empty night or five.’
‘I’m proud we made it to the other side of this year. I wear our scars proudly. You are my stubborn, beautiful, immovable rock.
‘The family we’ve built and the stories we have weaved together and the memories we continue to make are worth more than a thousand million awards that anyone could give me. I love you and I love us.’
Pink and racer Carey were praised by their celebrity pals, including actress Ruby Rose and Selma Blair, who dubbed them the ‘perfect team’.
Shannen Doherty offered her ‘congratulations’ and said ‘loyalty, commitment and faith in each other are beautiful.’
Pink and Carey first met during the 2001 Summer X Games in Philadelphia, and after a brief break in 2003, the singer proposed to Carey during a race in 2005, before they married.
The star previously poked fun at their split while celebrating their 12-year anniversary, writing: ’12 years married today. 16 if ya count the 4 years we spent deciding if we were going to live together forever or kill each other.
‘It’s been a nice mix of that ever since. Get em’ young and train em’ ladies. I still have a crush on you @hartluck.’
She previously encouraged the wonders therapy had on their marriage, saying it’s their ‘stubborn idealism’ that keeps them together.
