We’ll offer you a few hints as to who this growling youngster is, but we doubt you’ll be able to figure it out.
The celebrity was 17 at the time, and the now-54-year-old takes a posture that would eventually imitate his most iconic, taloned part.
He’s an A-lister, and an Australian one at that. He’s also buddies with Marvel icon Ryan Reynolds, whom he met in 2009 while working on a project called X-Men Origins.
After 27 years of marriage, the mysterious youngster in the photo has finally announced his divorce from wife Deborra-Lee Furness.
That’s correct. Can you believe it? Hugh Jackman.
The Wolverine star looks nothing like his younger self in this throwback snap he posted on social media yesterday, alongside the caption: ‘I was maybe 17. I was the assistant (to the assistant) of the footy team.’
Hugh would have been attending Knox Grammar School on Sydney’s Upper North Shore at the time, when he had his first taste of stardom in a performance of My Fair Lady.
He then took a gap year teaching physical education at the prestigious English boarding school Uppingham School before returning to Sydney for his BA in Communications. Hugh took a theatre course for extra credit in his last year and never looked back.
Since word of his divorce surfaced in September, the actor has been seen out and about.
He was recently photographed at an NFL game with closest pal Ryan, Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy, and Taylor Swift.
The Logan actress also recently helped out at God’s Love kitchen, cooking and delivering ‘medically customised meals’ for patients with ‘chronic or serious sickness’.
Following their split, Hugh and Deborra-Lee, 67, shared a joint statement to People, which said: ‘We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage.
‘Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.
‘We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.’
Hugh and Deborra-Lee met in 1995 and fell in love rapidly, becoming engaged after only three months.
They married in Australia the following April and later adopted their children Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18.
Hugh allegedly is working on a tell-all memoir that will contain facts of his divorce.
An insider revealed: ‘Hugh’s choosing to [write this book] now because he’s finally [being] honest with himself [and] the divorce.’
They also told Us Weekly that the actor will be ‘opening up about his life like never before,’ and that the process of writing the memoir has been ‘very healing.’
