Gaz Beadle’s extensive Emma Jane McVey is battling to stay cheerful as she recovers from open heart surgery.
The Geordie Shore star, 35, and influencer Emma, 30, married in 2021 and have two young children: Chester, five, and Primrose, three.
Emma had open heart surgery five months ago and looked to be doing well, but she was rushed back to the hospital this week after returning from a family vacation.
On Friday, the mother-of-two relayed the heartbreaking news, adding she was’so delighted we came back to the UK when we did, so grateful I was brought into hospital when I was.’
She is currently trying to maintain her spirits since she misses her house and her children.
Emma returned to Instagram on Friday night, posting a snapshot of herself laying in her hospital bed with her eyes closed, her pyjama top unzipped just enough to reveal the scar from her open heart surgery five months earlier.
She wrote: ‘I hate complaining when I’m in hospital because I know I need to be here and they’re doing everything they can for me.
‘But wow I’m so fed up today. I was in a bad way when I came in and today I’ve started to feel better the day has felt so much longer and I just want to be home with the kids.’
Emma had life-saving open heart surgery in January to repair three holes in her heart and repair her tricuspid valve, which regulates blood flow between the right atrium and right ventricle.
She previously told The Sun that she was afraid she would never see her spouse or their children again if she underwent the treatment.
She recalls the youngsters leaving her bedside “sobbing their eyes out when we said farewell.”
‘That was the hardest bit. I had to mentally prepare myself that it could be my last goodbye.’
She added to the publication: ‘I thought, “I’m going to get put to sleep and I’m not coming back out.”‘
She had been in and out of hospital for several years due to her condition ahead of her operation in January.
